Type on it. Hold a vowel. Double-tap shift. Hold the space bar. Hold 123 and slide onto a symbol. Tap the face beside 123 for a note about where it leads now. Everything here is meant to be indistinguishable from the iPhone keyboard except the small mark at the top left, which is ours. Tap it and your things come up over the keys. Turn on X-ray to see which parts are whose.
The row of field chips changes what the keyboard is asked for. A field tells the keyboard what it is for, and the keyboard answers. Email brings the at sign and the full stop onto the bottom row. Address brings the full stop, the slash and a .com key, and gives up the emoji key to fit them on a 393pt phone; hold .com for the other endings. Number and Decimal put a three-column pad there instead, with no letters at all. The keyboard is exactly the same height in every one of them.
The row beside the mark. Things you saved lead it from the third letter that starts a word inside one, anchored to the left edge; word suggestions fill the cells they leave, floating centred, from the second letter of any word. Three cells, and it stays empty when neither has anything to say, which is what your phone's own row does too. Press Play a line to watch, or type resu, head or omw yourself. Two keyboards, both current: Apple ships the flat one and the glass one at the same time and picks between them per app, so this is not a question of which year it is. The page opens on the flat one because that is what your capture shows.
Switch to the keyboard and your things are already sitting there. Nothing to set up first, nothing to switch on.
Every dark-mode number here is measured off NF's own captures at 1179px @3x = 393pt: capture-01-dark-qwerty-with-quicktype.png for the grid, the band and the type, and apple-kb-four-key-row-iphone16-dark-1179w.jpeg for the four-key bottom row (§4A.72-4A.77). The system bar below the keyboard appears in apple-kb-full-iphone16-dark-ios26-system-bar.jpeg and is drawn from §4A.13's band recipe pending its own integration; the split between our view and the system's is inferred and says so. Still unverified and marked as such: the light theme (there is no light capture yet), both panels (there is no capture of anyone's panel), the balloon and callout heights, delete acceleration, and every iPad measurement.
